The pace and tone reminds me of Night of the Living Dead. Dramatic and theatrical acting. Simple stylizations on sets. The camera angles are less dramatic, lending to a bit of authentic feel to the viewing experience. 

The angles used and combined in the gore scenes tell the gruesome story better than much modern horror has shared.

I’m pretty sure I got this right… this giant, hot zombie was created by the Vatican. He escaped the lab and is killing his way through American suburbs.

He heals rapidly, and has super strength. Every time he is on screen, he is stalking another victim to kill in a new creatively grotesque way.

Filled with flashbacks and backstory, this movie also reminds you right from the first scenes, it isn’t for squeamish people.

Joey, a reporter follows the trail of blood when she witnesses an impossible death happen right in front of her. Along the way, we see that Joey is on a lifelong mission to find out what happened to her father who died at war while she was a baby.

Joey wakes at night to find an antique radio playing loud in her closet. She puts the unplugged device on a table and starts dialing the frequency knob, till she hears a voice telling her to go to the window. Joey meets Captain Eliot Spencer’s spirit or ghost. Captain Spencer tells Joey how he was at war and he was obsessed with the occult while he was there. Explaining how he first encountered the puzzle box which turned him into Pinhead. Origin Story! Captain Spencer explains to Joey, that they need to team up to beat Pinhead.

When Pinhead arrives at The Boiler Room, He set to work right away, creating a new army of Cenobites out of some of the many people at the club that night. Joey arrives at the club to see bodies everywhere. She also notices that her cameraman now has a camera for a head.

Joey finds herself running down the city streets trying to avoid the hell that follows her, electric wires and fire hydrants all work together in trying to take her down, and the new collection of cenobites follows. Death by extreme close-up, death by flying CD, and a flame-breathing bartender of doom all pursue Joey and destroy everyone who gets in the way.
